Kelly Rowland Reveals She Was Domestic Violence Victim on Dirty Laundry

kelly-rowland-talk-a-good-gameIn Kelly Rowland’s latest song ‘Dirty Laundry’ produced by The Dream, she reveals things that she has never choosen to open up about in any interviews such as being a victim of domestic violence, as well as envying friend and Destiny Child group-mate Beyonce’s career and success.

In the song speaking on Bey’s success she sang, “When my sister was on stage, killin’ it like a motherfu**er/ I was enraged, feelin’ it like a motherfu**er/ Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with/ Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killin’ it/ Bittersweet, she was up, I was down,”

Kelly further went on to address a darker period in her life, during her early solo career, when she was suffering from physical, and mental abuse from a boyfriend, who even attempted to destroy her friendship with Beyonce. I was battered, he hit in a window like it was me until it shattered/ He pulled me out, he said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me, not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not B.’” Kelly sang about her abusive ex.

But Kelly has found the strength now to move on and speak about it, on her upcoming album Talk A Good Game, which releases on June 18th.
